60 Years of service ...
Wallace Machine was incorporated in 1947 by Bill Mackenrot and it began operations as a general machine shop. As such it made conveyors, shafting and did general machining. With the early acquisition of gear cutters, it then focused on the manufacture of industrial sprockets and spur gears. Over the years the company expanded production facilities to the current 15,000 square foot factory in the City of Vancouver.
The growth of the company paralleled the growth of the forestry industry in Western Canada, and as well provides sprockets and machined parts to a variety of industries across Canada.
One of the most unusual projects was a 1949 chicken plucker, and the company still has the original drawings. In addition, in 1958 the company manufactured the original wheels and other machined parts for the internationally renowned roller coaster at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver. In fact, Bill Mackenrot and his wife had to ride the tallest ever [at the time] rollercoaster during the inaugural ceremonies to prove to the crowd it was safe!
Wallace Machine continues to provide high quality standard and custom made sprockets to a network of customers across Canada.
